Do you know the names of the Pittsburgh Pirate Pierogie mascots? Joe does! Joe’s a big Pirates fan, and I love that Rebecca and Joe had Oliver Onion for a photo op during cocktail hour at their PNC Park Jim Beam Left Field Lounge reception. (It used to be called “Hometowne Lounge I think – ahh, sponsorship! But don’t worry, you don’t HAVE to drink Jim Beam at your reception – I saw plenty of White Claw – the official drink of summer 2019 – on the tables!)
It was a bright sunshine-y day in Pittsburgh – it’s so rare, as a wedding photographer, I almost forget what these are like! It was warm but gorgeous as the ladies got ready at the Residence Inn on the North Shore in the suites, with the guys just a few floors below. We did portraits around the outside of PNC and then headed to church in the trolley.
After church, we made some quick photo spots on the way back to PNC including the edge of Allegheny Commons Park, a cool ivy wall, and the Andy Warhol Bridge (since the Clemente was closed to traffic for Picklesburgh) – then we did the traditional must-have PNC Park seats and warming track photos – it’s a tradition if you’re having your reception there and are baseball fans!
At sunset, we dashed out to get a few more shots on the Riverwalk and my assistant Allison even got the couple a balloon and a pickle on a stick for a fun photo op with something uniquely Pittsburgh – a yellow bridge and Heinz.
