As a photographer, I love an expressive face. Some of my favorite wedding images come from weddings with couples who really wear their emotions on their faces! I also talk a lot about “matching and absorbing a couple’s energy” – so if you’re quieter and calmer, I will match that as best I can. And if you are exuberant and energetic, I will match that too. Lindsey and David’s happiness is contagious.
We were with them for 13+ hours and I still didn’t want it to end – I left their wedding feeling pumped up. The joy on their faces reminds me of why we’ve been doing this most of the weekends of my adult life.
These two met in middle school at band camp and started dating in high school. David moved to Texas for a job and Lindsey followed a few months later. They got engaged and realized it was on the date that David was packing up the truck and moving to Texas several years ago. They are such a good pair together.
They got engaged at the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Vegas overlooking the Bellagio Fountains – David had candles, roses, and a handpicked custom menu.
I saw on Instagram that these guys and some of their wedding party were in the 4:30am club at the airport on Monday morning, flying back home or flying to their honeymoon in Montego Bay Jamaica – I’m not sure! In the photo on Instagram, Lindsey and David were of course still smiling huge.
Some unique things about their wedding day that I liked – we did their photos on the grounds of the church! This doesn’t always work but in this case, the grounds are gorgeous and the light was perfect (due to a Friday night wedding that was a bit later than most Saturday ceremonies!). I loved riding in their classic stretch limo with them and capturing some little moments of them singing along to their favorite music. And then they had a “bridal dance” which I thought would be a slow song where each member of the bridal party danced with their partner but it was actually a fast group song and you could tell they practiced. Here’s how you know these two are caring souls – they surprised the THREE guests with birthdays on the dance floor at the reception to honor them. David had each groomsman’s favorite beer put on custom socks (and some of the beers were hard to find!)
These two have the sweetest spirits. They embody a phrase I often use about weddings “let nothing bother you that day.” It was an honor to be there on the first day of their marriage.
Note to the couple: Lindsey and David, it was a pleasure to work with the two of you! We thank you for choosing Kristen Wynn Photography and wish you a lifetime of love and happiness always. Congratulations!
