Erin and Michaeljohn are getting married next summer at Long Vue Club, but they ALSO got married this summer in their backyard on their original date! It was elopement style and so fun!

When it became apparent that their large ceremony and reception wouldn’t be able to occur in July due to the pandemic, they started thinking of new venues for something smaller and intimate. But with that comes extra expense and the risk that those smaller venues could get shut down – we’ve even heard recently of people’s permits for park weddings being cancelled. So the backyard of your own home or a family member’s home seems to be the safest option for an elopement right now – outside, private property, and you can decorate and style the space to your liking.

Michaeljohn put a lot of work into the backyard over the past month and he even styled the floral on the arbor! Erin bought a new dress at Macy’s (she’s saving her original dress for the big wedding) and we had a great time at their casual small gathering where vows were exchanged under the arbor and guests gathered in the front yard for appetizers. The couple took a minimoon to Myrtle Beach and we can’t wait to celebrate with them next year too!

Note to the couple:
Erin and Michaeljohn, it was a pleasure to work with the two of you! We thank you for choosing Kristen Wynn Photography and can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year! Congratulations!
