Emily and William had a sunny summer outdoor wedding ceremony in June at Greystone Fields in Gibsonia, PA with their reception on the property in the adjacent banquet room.

Emily and William first met in grade school and years later worked at a local pizza shop together. Will proposed during dinner at The Capital Grille.

Before the ceremony, the couple each got ready separately in Carnegie. Emily got ready at her childhood home and William’s sister was kind enough to let us use her nearby home for the groom and groomsmen’s prep. Then it was off to the hotel to catch the shuttle and wait for the gates of Greystone Fields to open!

We wanted to make sure to maximize their rental time at Greystone Fields with a first look. The grounds are well-manicured at Greystone Fields and we recommend a first look there and then later coming back out for sunset photos when there is a bit more shade on the hottest of hot days! This way, you have some great variety in your photos and some softer light too on some hidden gem photo spots on the property. When you have your ceremony and reception all in one place, we typically recommend either an extended cocktail hour (if permitted/possible) or a first look to get photos done prior – or, for some flexible couples, both! This gives the maximum photos with the minimum amount of rushing!

After some brief pre-ceremony photos, the couple headed upstairs where they had rented out the bride and groom suites before the ceremony. This was a great time for us as photographers to snag all those reception detail shots – before the cocktail hour! Following the ceremony, there was a receiving line into the reception.

Then the couple made their entrance and danced the night away! Everyone took home a planted succulent as a favor before heading outside to the sparkler send off! Other special details included a s’mores bar and ceremony violinist as well as a special orange flower incorporated in Will’s bountonierre.
