Allison and Chad have such an interesting engagement story. They’ve been together for nine years and have been engaged the entire pandy. Here’s how it went – the two of them are “winter” people and winter enthusiasts and they went out west to go skiing – this was around March 13th of 2020. They got in one day of winter activities and Chad proposed! They started hearing from the ski resort workers that everything would be shutting down – and therefore, they celebrated their engagement with Subway sandwiches (since sit down places were closed) and flew home. They started planning a roughly one year engagement – but Covid had other plans and they moved their February 2021 wedding to August of 2021. The colors and aesthetic they chose still worked for August and thankfully Allison didn’t have long sleeves on her dress since her wedding day was about 85 degrees!

Allison has given me the sweetest gifts and I have loved getting to know her and Chad – they actually met at a good friend’s wedding (at the after party they connected!) and soon it was long distance as Chad was living in Florida at the time. He moved up a few years later and these two even recently purchased a lake house, which is great because Chad is a boater AND his last name is Marine.
Speaking of last names, poor sweet Allison. Her maiden name is Virus (pronounced Veer-us) and she had to spend the entire last year hearing terrible dad jokes about the word Virus. I even have one to tell myself. Shortly after the pandemic started, I went on Instagram and saw “avirus” (her IG name) was following me. And this was in the early days of Covid so I thought someone was being funny.

These two are just the sweetest and kindest go with the flow people. A few days before the wedding, the best man couldn’t make it. They lost their original church. And yet everything remained upbeat and fun and happy and the dance floor was packed all night. Allison is a Type A planner and, as someone said in their toast, Chad is “tell me what time to be there” – this is the perfect complement to each other. Planner Heather said, after listening to Allison’s speech, “when I grow up, I want to be her” and same, girl, same. We’re so fortunate to have been a part of this beautiful event.

Note to the couple:
